That is why I decided to place the text in the back so that it could bleed through the glass. I made the background black to keep the focus on the message of the piece. I also had to reshape the original sculpt of the manikin because I didn't like its initial pose.

MANIQUIN

Objective:

Find different ways to use/incorporate manikins into graphic design.

Timeline:

I took different types of manikins (chrome, fabric wrapped, plastic) but in this sheet, I am going to focus only on the Chrome one.

First I searched for the perfect chrome manikin photo. I was looking for a manikin that looked somewhat androgynous with a nice chrome sheen, shiny enough to be able to make it look like glass afterward.

Now, the reason why I was looking for such specific characteristics on the manikin is that I wanted it to be gender neutral so that anyone could see themselves in the image. The choice of making it look like glass was made to represent the fragility of the human psyche and how important the existence of a creative outlet is. Also the importance of being transparent.

Timeline:

I took different types of manikins (chrome, fabric wrapped, plastic) but in this sheet, I am going to focus only on the plastic one.

First I searched for the perfect plastic manikin photo. I was looking for a manikin that looked somewhat androgynous and found this particular one, I picked this one because it looked like it was about to get into costume. ready to become Davis Bowie.
